A Note about 3D Printing

Our 3D printed items are made to order.

Though our products are high quality, they are not perfect or indestructible. Do not expose to extremely high temperatures as plastic will soften and distort. Please handle it with care.

3D printed designs are subject to small imperfections, ridges, stringing, etc. You might see a layer line where it builds up the materials on top of each other or slight stringing.

Our prints are not painted unless otherwise noted. You can easily paint with acrylic paints or an airbrush or spray paints!

Some small prints would present a choking hazard and are not recommended for small children.

Our Colors

The 3D printing (additive manufacturing) process uses batch produced materials that are subject to variations in color uniformity and intensity. Photos are representative only and may not exactly match what you will see in the final product. We also cannot guarantee your monitor or mobile screen is precisely RGB calibrated.  Please make your color choice with a generous spirit. 

If you are curious or particular about colors, we highly recommend ordering a color sample swatch which we sell for a nominal price.


I'm placing an order for a gift, do you include the receipt in the package?

Just let us know and we'll only include the packing slip in the package and no invoice or receipt. All of this information will be emailed to the email on file.

Can I include a gift note with my order?

Yes, please write in the box at check out what you would like your gift note to say and we will be sure to include it.


How do I qualify for Free Shipping?

Standard USPS shipping is free with all orders over $35. Shipping costs for orders vary depending on the order total and are calculated at checkout.

Shipping Policy

Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that our fulfillment team has received your order. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive an email notification with your tracking information. Shipping fees are non-refundable in the case of returns.

Do you ship overseas?

Currently we only ship within the United States.

How long will my order take to process?

3D printed goods can take between 2-7 days to process depending on current demand. Once shipped, orders usually take 2-4 days to arrive if using standard shipping.

Please note this is an average turnaround time, but some unexpected delays may occur. 

Return Policy

We do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations.

But please contact me if you have any problems with your order at hello@necessarydesign.com.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / Non-returnable Items
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards.

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
