Missed Part 1? Read the story behind MiNote here
In yesterday's post, I shared how my hand-drawn lunchbox monsters became a daily tradition with my kids—and how life (hello, COVID) disrupted that routine. Today, I'm excited to introduce the solution I created: MiNote.
What Is MiNote?
MiNote is a reusable lunchbox note holder that makes it easy for parents to send little messages to their kids—without needing to be an artist or come up with creative ideas when you're already exhausted.
The characters do the "work" of being fun. You just add the words.
How MiNote Works
Using MiNote is ridiculously simple:
- Write your note on a sticky note (or use one of the four included message stickers)
- Stick it to MiNote's back in the recessed area
- Toss it in the lunchbox
- Done
Some parents write notes the night before. Some scribble them while coffee brews. Either way is enough to make lunch time feel special.
The Magic of Character Notes
Here's what makes MiNote different: the note can come from you or from the character.
"You've got this today!" from mom hits different than "Burp! Sorry, I ate your cookies!" from a little monster. Both are meaningful. Both make kids smile. And both remind your child that someone's thinking about them during the school day.
Why I Created This
I wanted to give families an easy way to keep that connection going—even on the busiest days. MiNote works for:
- Busy families who don't have time for elaborate notes
- Not-so-artistic parents who still want to send something special
- Older elementary kids who might find hand-drawn hearts a little "cringe"
- Anyone who wants to brighten their kid's lunch without the pressure
The point isn't perfection. The point is connection.
It's that moment when your kid opens their lunch and knows, without a doubt, that you were thinking about them. It's your second grader showing their friend the silly message. It's your fourth grader quietly tucking the note into their backpack to keep.
Tomorrow in Part 3: Meet Pip, Zip, and Plum—the three MiNote characters ready to deliver your messages (and maybe a few silly ones of their own).
